Roque: Duterte's last SONA will never touch on his political plans

Malacañang said Thursday that President Rodrigo Duterte’s final State of the Nation Address (SONA) will have nothing about his political plans for 2022.

“Siguro po hindi mapapasama ang kanyang mga planong politikal” (I don’t think it will include his political plans), presidential spokesperson Harry Roque said.

“Ang importante (what's important) is the roadmap for his last year in office,” he added.

Earlier, Duterte said he was open to running for Vice President in the 2022 polls, and now he is considering that option, after his party-mates in the ruling PDP-Laban pressed him to pursue it.  

Roque earlier said that the President’s final SONA on July 26 will focus on measures needed to stir the country to progress.

“He will focus on social programs, infrastructure, peace and security, foreign policy...he will address what and where we are now and looking forward to his final year,” Roque added. —LBG, GMA News
