The Philippines on Thursday evening received two million more doses of the Sinovac vaccine against the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).

According to the National Task Force against COVID-19, Flight PR359 carrying the vaccine landed at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport Terminal 2 at 7:20 p.m.

This is part of the doses procured by the Philippine government.

Vaccine czar Secretary Carlito Galvez Jr. welcomed the arrival of the fresh batch of the vaccine.

“Ang concentration nito nationwide ito. So ‘yung 1 million for our NCR Plus… plus ‘yung one million dadalin natin… sa provinces,” Galvez said.

(This will be distributed nationwide. One million will be given to NCR Plus areas while one million will be given to different provinces.)

The NTF COVID-19 said 578,000 doses of the AstraZeneca vaccine and 15,000 doses of the Sputnik V Comp 2 vaccine are also set to arrive on Friday.
