Ex-LP exec Jopet Sison replaces Noli de Castro as Aksyon Demokratiko's Senate bet
Former Liberal Party official Joseph Peter "Jopet" Sison will replace veteran journalist Noli De Castro as senatorial candidate of Aksyon Demokratiko in the 2022 elections.
The information was released by Aksyon Demokratiko party chairman Ernest Ramel on Thursday, a day after de Castro announced the withdrawal of his candidacy.
De Castro said he realized that he would be of great help to the public by continuing his profession in the field of media.
Sison will be joining party president and standard bearer Manila Mayor Isko Moreno and his running-mate, online personality Dr. Willie Ong, in a visit to Batangas on Friday, October 15.
Sison was formerly the Quezon City chairman of the Liberal Party.
He also served as Quezon City councilor for six years, assistant general manager of the National Housing Authority from 2001-2005, and president of the National Home Mortgage Finance Corporation from 2006 to 2012. —Anna Felicia Bajo/KBK, GMA News
