Pacquiao names 10 Senate bets for Eleksyon 2022

Presidential aspirant and Senator Manny Pacquiao on Friday bared 10 senatorial bets who will be running under his ticket in Eleksyon 2022.

The list, which was provided by Pacquiao's staff to reporters, includes:

• Senator Juan Miguel Zubiri
• Senator Joel Villanueva
• Sorsogon Governor Francis Escudero
• Antique Representative Loren Legarda
• Former Vice President Jejomar Binay
• Broadcaster Raffy Tulfo
• Former Samar Governor Lutgardo Barbo
• Senator Richard Gordon
• Labor leader Elmer Labog
• Former Bayan Muna Representative Neri Colmenares

In an ANC interview earlier in the day, Pacquiao said most of them are guest candidates and his ticket does not want to “corner” them in one party.

He added that their lineup is still open for other guest candidates.

“Yung ibang mga kandidato gusto maging guest candidate eh. Open tayo [We are still open for those who want to be our guest candidates],” he said. 

For vice president, Pacquiao has picked former Manila mayor and current Buhay party-list Representative Lito Atienza.

Colmenares on Sunday thanked Pacquiao for including him and Labog in the presidential aspirant's list of senatorial bets.

"This endorsement and expression of support for me and KMU Chairman Elmer Labog, is a sign that he recognizes the need for candidates in the Senate that will push for the legislative agenda of workers, the farmers and the marginalized sectors in our country today," Colmenares said in a statement. —KBK/KG, GMA News
