Over 2 million Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine doses arrive

The Philippines on Sunday night welcomed a total of 2,098,980 doses of the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine.

The vaccines were donated by the US and coursed through the global vaccine-sharing COVAX facility.

The vaccines arrived at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport Terminal 2 past 10 p.m.

The country has received more than 100 million vaccine shots from seven manufacturers since February.

The Philippines officially rolled out its vaccination program on March 1.

The country has so far recorded 2,787,276 cases of COVID-19 including 2,698,871 recoveries and 43,172 fatalities. — Ma. Angelica Garcia/BM, GMA News
