Philippine Air Force get 5 more S-70i Black Hawks

The Philippine Air Force on Tuesday said it received five additional S-70i Black Hawk helicopters at Clark Air Base on Monday.

In a statement, the PAF said the Black Hawks from Poland are part of the third and final batch delivered by Polish aerospace firm PZL Mielec to the military.

These helicopters will complete PAF's fleet of 16 Black Hawk helicopters, it added.

The first batch of six units was delivered in November 2020, followed by the second batch of five units in June this year that was formally turned over in a ceremony on October 13.

For the PAF, the set of helicopters will boost the AFP's capability for various operations such as humanitarian assistance and disaster response missions.

The PAF said they first used Black Hawks for transporting COVID-19 vaccines to different locations in the country in support of the government's effort amid the pandemic. — Joviland Rita/BM, GMA News
