413 areas under granular lockdown —Año
A total of 413 areas in the country are under granular lockdown, affecting at least 29,000 individuals, according to the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG).
Reporting to President Rodrigo Duterte on Tuesday night, DILG Secretary Eduardo Año said 7,000 households or about 29,815 individuals are affected by the smaller-scale quarantine imposed in villages and streets tagged by the local government units (LGUs) as "critical zones" or high-risk for the COVID-19.
Based on the DILG's data, MIMAROPA tops the list with 118 areas, followed by the Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR) with 108.
However, it was Region V or the Bicol Region, despite having only 11 areas under granular lockdown, which has the most number of affected households at 5,430 or 25,734 individuals.
Among the 17 regions, 46 cities and municipalities, and 272 barangays in the country, only the Central Luzon, CALABARZON, Eastern Visayas, Northern Mindanao, SOCCSKSARGEN, CARAGA, and the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao do not have areas that are under granular lockdown. —KBK, GMA News
