Philippines receives 1.3 million doses of Moderna COVID-19 vaccine

The Philippines on Friday received 1,306,000 doses of the Moderna COVID-19 vaccine, which were procured by the government. 

The latest shipment of Moderna doses arrived at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport Terminal 1 at 9:51 a.m., according to the National Task Force Against COVID-19.

The country has received around 130 million vaccine doses since February 28.

Government data showed on Thursday that close to 33 million Filipinos are now fully vaccinated against the coronavirus, which has killed 46,422 people in the country since the onset of the pandemic early last year. 

The mass vaccination program kicked off on March 1. — VBL, GMA News
