Robredo cries foul over fake news on daughter's 'arrest' in US
Vice President Leni Robredo on Monday warned the public about a fake report about her daughter, Aika Robredo, being detained in the United States.
In a Facebook post, Robredo said certain individuals wrote a letter to Harvard Kennedy School to revoke Aika's acceptance from the school because her tution was from corrupted government funds.
But the American-based school dismissed the request.
(When Aika was studying for a Master in Public Administration in Harvard Kennedy School, our opponents sent a letter to the school to have Aika's acceptance revoked as they alleged that I've been paying her tuition through government funds that I corrupted.)
(They were humiliated and were laughed at. What they didn't know, Aika is a full scholar. Her tuition, dormitory and living expenses were free. Entering this course is competitive because it is a degree program.)
Robredo further pointed out that Aika was accepted to the school because of her credentials not because she was a daughter of the vice president.
She then shared the fake report which had a headline, "Aika Robredo granted Police Enquiry Bail after arrest in United States."
She also debunked any reports that her daughters committed a crime.
(I'm sorry but all of our children are hard workers and they study well. They are not in politics and they are performing well in their careers. None of them are involved in illegal acts.)
Robredo said the report needs to be corrected as there are still others who would easily believe in the fake news.—LDF, GMA News
