Philippines receives more than 201,000 doses of Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine
The Philippines received on Friday an additional 201,240 doses of government-procured Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine.
According to the National Task Force (NTF) Against COVID-19, the latest batch of vaccine doses landed at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport Terminal 3 past 9 p.m.
NTF Against COVID-19 medical consultant Dr. Ma. Paz Corrales thanked the United States government for facilitating the delivery of the vaccines.
She said the latest batch of vaccines will be used next week, for the scheduled mass vaccination.
President Rodrigo Duterte earlier declared November 29, 30, and December 1 as Bayanihan, Bakunahan National COVID-19 Vaccination Days.
Under Proclamation 1253 issued by the President on Wednesday will allow public and private sector employees to have themselves vaccinated without being marked absent from work, provided they present proof of getting vaccinated during these days.
The government is seeking to vaccinate 15 million people during the three-day period.
The country received a total of 1,017,900 doses of government-procured Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine on Thursday night.
