Over 1 million Pfizer doses arrive in the Philippines


The Philippines on Monday night welcomed a total of 1,085,760 doses of Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine.

The additional vaccine supply, which was procured by the national government, arrived at the Ninoy Aquino international Airport Terminal 3 past 9 p.m. via flight LD456.

Earlier in the day, the country also received 1,497,200 doses of government-procured Moderna COVID-19 vaccine.  The shipment arrived at the NAIA Terminal 1 past 3 p.m.

The total number of vaccines delivered in the country was at 146,486,660 as of December 2.

At least 38 million individuals in the country have been fully vaccinated against COVID-19.

The country has so far recorded 2,835,154 COVID-19 cases with 2,772,107 recoveries and 49,499 deaths.—Ma. Angelica Garcia/LDF, GMA News
