Over 1M Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine doses arrive in Philippines


A total of 1,082,250 doses of the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine procured by the government arrived in the Philippines on Wednesday evening.

The additional vaccine supply arrived at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport Terminal 3 past 8 p.m.

More than 38 million individuals have been fully vaccinated against COVID-19 since the Philippines officially rolled out its vaccination program on March 1.

The country has so far administered 92,752,986 doses.

The second phase of the government's mass vaccination drive will run from December 15 to 17. During the three-day period, the government expects up to seven million people to receive their second dose of the vaccine. — VBL, GMA News
