Philippines welcomes another million Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine doses

The Philippines on Sunday received an additional 1 million doses of the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine as part of donations coming from the German government through the COVAX global facility.

A total of 1,062,100 doses of Pfizer vaccines arrived at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) on Sunday afternoon, which was welcomed by local health officials.

“We can see we have another example today of how important vaccination is and I think the Philippines is on a very good way with the vaccination program,” German Embassy Economic Counselor George Maue said Sunday afternoon.

“Germany is happy to support the Philippines with a fantastic vaccination program,” he emphasized.

The Philippines has received 161 million total doses as of December 14, 2021, including brands such as Sinovac, Pfizer, AstraZeneca, Moderna, Sputnik V, and Johnson & Johnson. — DVM, GMA News
