Prosecutor shot dead in Cavite –police

A Trece Martires, Cavite prosecutor was shot in the head and killed on Friday - New Year’s Eve, the Police Regional Office 4A said.

Based on a police report, 48-year-old Edilbert Mendoza was standing in front of his home in Barangay Cabuco when he was shot by an assailant at 7:38 a.m.

The gunman fled from the scene.

According to the police, Mendoza was an Assistant City Prosecutor currently assigned to the Regional Trial Court Branch of Trece Martires, Cavite.
