OCTA: NCR, six cities at critical risk for COVID-19


The National Capital Region and at least six cities are at critical risk for COVID-19 following the release of the Department of Health's daily case bulletin on Friday, OCTA Research has said.

OCTA Research fellow Dr. Guido David said also at critical risk were Baguio, Naga in Bicol, Angeles in Pampanga, Santiago in Isabela, Dagupan in Pangasinan, and Lucena in Quezon.

The average daily attack rate per 100,000 population in the NCR has climbed to a "severe" 120.16 on Friday from 117.24 the day before. Its infection or reproduction number went down to 3.34 from 3.77.

The ADAR is “very high” Angeles City (32.65%), Baguio City (65.14%), Dagupan (29.60%), Lucena (25.13%), Naga City (34.99%), Santiago (31.25%).

Meanwhile, the following cities have “high” ADAR including Cebu City (14.01%), Iloilo City (23.45%), Lapu-Lapu (22.80%), Olongapo (19.83%), Tacloban (17.59%).

The Philippines on Friday logged 37,207 new COVID-19 cases, another highest daily tally since the start of pandemic, increasing the nationwide count to 3,129,512.

The previous highest daily case count reported was 34,021 on Thursday, January 13. —NB, GMA News
