Lacson to prioritize anti-corruption drive, budget reform, digitalization of gov’t services if elected president in Eleksyon 2022

Presidential aspirant and Senator Panfilo Lacson said he would prioritize his anti-corruption drive, reforms in the national budget, and digitalization of government services if elected in Eleksyon 2022.

Appearing at The Jessica Soho Presidential Interviews aired Saturday, Lacson said anew that addressing corruption would solve at least 50% of the country’s problems.

Lacson reiterated the need for an equitable distribution of national resources as he noted that the average unused appropriation from 2010 to 2020 is around P328 billion.

“Unang-una, budget reform ano kailangan talaga yung budget kumalat sa buong Pilipinas, hindi yung andiyan lang sa central government at ninanakaw pa,” he said.

(First of all, we need budget reform because we need to distribute the resources across the Philippines and not stored in the central government and being stolen.)

“‘Yung misused mas malaki pa ‘yun lalo na ‘yung abused, kasi alam naman natin kapag pinasok, in-insert at wala po sa plano, e ang mangyayari diyan mali ‘yung paggastos, mali ‘yung pag implementa,” he added.

(The misused funds are big much more the abused funds. There would be misspending if the projects are not part of the original plan. There will also be problems in the implementation.)

Lastly, Lacson said he would push for the digitalization of government processes.

These priorities are in line with their campaign motto which is motto is “Ito ang Simula.”
