Isko vows more schools if elected president

More schools will be built if he wins in the 2022 national elections, presidential aspirant and Manila Mayor Isko Moreno said Friday.

At the KBP Presidential Candidates Forum, Moreno, who has his own share of rags-to-riches story, said education is very important especially for those who belong to the poor sector.

"In our own little way, bilang isang batang galing sa iskwater, masakit mapagkaitan ng edukasyon. Napakahalaga ng edukasyon sa kaninumang tao lalo na ang mahihirap," Moreno said.

He said he would continue to do what he did in Manila to improve the education sector amid the threat of the COVID-19 pandemic. He said schools with enough facilities would be built for the next generation.

"Noong nagkaroon ng pandemya, ang Maynila, we provided bandwidth, laptops for teachers, bandwidth for teachers, laptops for students para matulay natin, matawid natin 'yung pagaaral ng ating kabataan," Moreno said. — RSJ, GMA News
