DFA welcomes report personnel of fire-hit Russian Embassy safe

A fire hit the Russian Embassy on Acacia Street in Makati City on Friday night. According to the Bureau of Fire Protection in the National Capital Region, the blaze reached the first alarm at 8:25 p.m. but was declared under control at 9:38 p.m. BFP-NCR

The Philippine Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) said Saturday that it felt relieved upon learning that all personnel of the fire-stricken Russian Embassy in Makati City were unhurt and safe.

Earlier, reports indicated that the fire hit the Russian foreign mission office on Friday evening, February 4, 2022.

In a statement, the DFA said that it got the information on the embassy personnel from Ambassador Marat Pavlov.

Likewise, the DFA assured Russia's foreign office of protection from intrusion, and vowed to uphold the inviolability of the mission's premises.

Moreover, the DFA expressed support for an expeditious investigation into the fire incident.
