Return tickets no longer required for balikbayans, foreign spouses and children of Filipinos — Palace

Former Filipino citizens with balikbayan privilege, as well as foreign spouses and children of Filipinos, are now exempted from the return ticket requirement when traveling to the Philippines for business or tourism purposes.

The new policy issued by the Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF) was announced by acting presidential spokesperson Karlo Nograles at the Laging Handa briefing on Thursday.

Other foreign nationals who enter the Philippines without a visa must have valid tickets for their return journey to their port of origin or next port of destination within 30 days of their arrival.

The Philippines reopened its doors to foreign tourists on Thursday as the country aims to revive the tourism industry that has been severely impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic.  — VBL, GMA News
