Gonzales prefers interviews, but won't shun debates
Even as he prefers one-on-one interviews, presidential candidate Norberto Gonzales on Thursday said he is open to engaging politely in debates with other presidential bets in the 2022 elections.
Gonzales said this when sought for comment on the remark of lawyer Vic Rodriguez, Marcos spokesman, that the latter will not join forums that will have candidates being potted against each other.
“I agree with Bong Bong. I also prefer one-on-one interviews, but should there be debates, there are polite ways of handling that. And I will try my best to engage the polite kind of debate,” the former Defense Secretary told GMA News Online.
Marcos had skipped the presidential interview with veteran GMA Network journalist Jessica Soho and the presidential forum of the Kapisanan ng mga Brodkaster ng Pilipinas.
He also accused Soho of being “biased” and said that a “biased media” is a media that is “anti-Marcos.” He insisted that he is not a coward.
Gonzales recently took part in the e-rally of the Commission on Elections.
