PFP founder Mangelen appeals Comelec division's junking of DQ cases vs. Marcos Jr

One of the founders of Partido Federal ng Pilipinas (PFP) has appealed the junking of the disqualification cases against presidential candidate Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr. by the Commission on Elections (Comelec) First Division.

A Saksi report on Monday night quoted Abubakar Mangelen as saying that the arguments of some petitioners were not tackled by the First Division in deciding on the case.

Marcos' camp reportedly refused to comment as they have yet to receive a copy of the motion for reconsideration.

Meanwhile, the group Campaign Against the Return of the Marcoses and Martial Law (CARMMA) is also set to file a motion for reconsideration regarding the junking of the case against Marcos, the report said.

Marcos' spokesperson and legal counsel, Atty. Vic Rodriguez, urged the petitioners to respect the decision of the Comelec First Division.

"Matutuhan sana nilang magbigay-respeto sa ating judicial at quasi-judicial bodies at tigilan na ang pang-aabuso sa ating judicial process sa pamamagitan ng pagsasampa ng mga kasong pawang kasinungalingan lamang," he said.

(I hope they learn to respect our judicial and quasi-judicial bodies and stop abusing our judicial process by filing cases based on lies.)
