Singapore eyes quarantine-free entry for fully vaxxed travelers
Fully vaccinated travelers from selected countries will be allowed to enter Singapore without quarantine requirement after it expanded its Vaccinated Travel Lane (VTL) scheme starting February 25.
According to the Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore (CAAS), vaccinated travelers from Qatar, Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, and Hong Kong may enter Singapore under the VTL.
According to the CAAS, the VTL applications for these countries will open on February 22.
It will also launch VTLs for Israel and the Philippines to establish two-way quarantine-free travel starting March 4. The VTL applications for both countries will open on March 1.
“The VTL scheme has allowed us to reopen our borders safely while managing public health risks. Under the VTL, fully vaccinated travelers from VTL countries/regions may enter Singapore without quarantine and just need to undergo COVID-19 testing,” the CAAS said.
Foreign travelers entering Singapore under the VTL were advised to comply with the prevailing VTL requirements stated at https://safetravel.ica.gov.sg.
They are also advised to check the entry requirements imposed by the respective VTL countries, which may vary across countries and may change as the COVID-19 situation evolves.
As of February 15, Singapore has established VTLs with 24 countries, while at least 389,046 travelers have entered Singapore via the VTL. —LBG, GMA News
