Bongbong tops latest OCTA’s presidential survey

Presidential aspirant Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr. dominated the latest OCTA Research's Tugon ng Masa survey.

In a tweet on Monday, OCTA Research fellow Dr. Guido David showed the result of the presidential survey where Marcos obtained 55% preference votes.

The survey was conducted from February 12 to 17, after the official launch of the campaign period for the May 2022 elections. A total of 1,200 individuals responded to the survey, with the question, "If the election will be held today, who will you likely vote for as president?"

The former senator scored 46% in Metro Manila, 56% in Balance Luzon, 47% in Visayas, and 65% in Mindanao.

Marcos was followed by Vice President Leni Robredo with 15%, Manila Mayor Isko Moreno with 11%, Senator Manny Pacquiao with 10%, and Senator Panfilo Lacson with 3%.

The survey had a margin of error of 3%, David said.

Marcos' camp expressed its deepest appreciation to OCTA Research for its "selfless endeavor of regularly bringing the true sentiments of the Filipino people to light."

"The latest Tugon ng Masa survey results of OCTA Research confirm that presidential candidate Ferdinand ‘Bongbong’ Marcos Jr.’s direct way of communicating with the people on the ground truly works," lawyer Vic Rodriguez, Marcos’ spokesperson, said.

"Certainly, there is no substitute to showing up in person, in flesh and blood, just to be in the company of millions of individuals one wishes to serve," he added.

Rodriguez also said the Marcos' camp enjoins the Commission on Elections in guaranteeing a free, orderly, and honest elections.

For his part, presidential candidate and Senator Panfilo Lacson said he remains unbothered by the recent results of presidential surveys.

"Ako, hindi ako bothered. Hindi ako perturbed. I remain unperturbed dun sa mga survey results," he said.

(I am not bothered by these surveys. I am not perturbed. I remain unperturbed by the survey results.)

"Kasi ang totoo lang na dapat tingnan natin e yung May 9 kasi kung papaniwalaan natin ang resulta ng mga survey, lahat kaming nakatayo kagabi talo. Yung wala doon ang panalo," he added.

(The only survey that we should look at is on May 9 because if we will believe these survey results, then all those who joined the debates last night will lose. The one who is absent last night will be the winner.)

Lacson was referring to the CNN Philippines presidential debates which Marcos skipped due to a conflict in his schedule.

In the recent Pulse Asia survey, Marcos also topped the presidential survey at 60%, with Robredo placing far second at 16%.
