The Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) on Tuesday announced the reopening of provincial bus routes for inter-regional trips.

Based on Memorandum Circular No. 2022 – 023, the LTFRB said all public utility bus operators with valid and existing Certificate of Public Convenience (CPC), Provisional Authority (PA), and Special Permits are allowed to operate and use designated end-point terminals to and out of Metro Manila.

Provincial commuter routes coming from CALABARZON will be allowed in its original terminal at the Araneta Bus Terminal in Cubao via C5.

Meanwhile, provincial commuter routes with pre-COVID endpoints in Buendia, Makati, Pasay, and Manila will still use as their endpoint the Paranaque Integrated Terminal Exchange (PITX), including those coming from Quezon, MIMAROPA, and Bicol.

For provincial buses from Region 1, 2, and Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR), they are allowed to drop off passengers at North Luzon Express Terminal (NLET) where there are city buses that will take them to Metro Manila.

Provincial buses from Region 3 are allowed to pick up and drop off passengers in terminals such as Araneta Center Cubao and NLET depending on the route of the authorized unit.

Those from Visayas and Mindanao to Metro Manila are allowed to board and take off passengers at Santa Rosa Integrated Terminal (SRIT), while there are also city buses that will take them to Metro Manila.

The LTFRB, however, reminded PUB operators that they are required to secure QR Code in every authorized unit driven prior to operation. They can download the QR code on www.ltfrb.com.ph

They are advised to print it on a size 8.5"×11" short bond paper and must post it on the front their windshield without affecting the driver's view.—LDF, GMA News
