Over 1 million doses of Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine for kids land at NAIA

More than one million doses of government-procured Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine for children arrived in the Philippines on Wednesday night, the National Task Force (NTF) Against COVID-19 has said.

The fresh batch of 1,056,000 doses of reformulated Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine for the pediatric age group and 128,700 doses for adults landed at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport Terminal 3 past 8 p.m.

Based on the latest data of the NTF, the Philippines has administered a total of 137,085,697 COVID-19 vaccine doses. Of this number, 63,793,957 Filipinos are now fully vaccinated as of March 7.

The pilot rollout of COVID-19 vaccination for 5 to 11 years old in the country started in the National Capital Region last February 7.

The government is eyeing to fully vaccinate 77 million Filipinos against COVID-19 by the end of March, and 90 million by the time Duterte steps down from office on June 30. —Richa Noriega/NB, GMA News
