Philippines gets over 1 million Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine doses for kids


The Philippines received a total of 1,080,000 doses of government-procured Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine for the pediatric age group 5 to 11 on Friday night.

The National Task Force (NTF) Against COVID-19 said the fresh batch of vaccine doses landed at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport Terminal 3 past 9 p.m.

The country also earlier received an additional of 1,056,000 doses of reformulated Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine for children on Thursday night.

According to the National COVID-19 Vaccination Dashboard, a total of 137,351,822 doses were administered, with 63,992,620 individuals fully vaccinated as of March 9.

The national government is pushing to fully vaccinate 77 million Filipinos against COVID-19 by the end of March, and at least 90 million individuals by the time President Rodrigo Duterte steps down from office on June 30, 2022.—LDF, GMA News
