Robredo on ROSA: Kiko will remain my running mate ‘til Election Day
TAGUM, Davao del Norte — Vice President and presidential candidate Leni Robredo said Thursday her supporters who choose to back other vice presidential bets are normal but Senator Francis "Kiko" Pangilinan will remain her running mate until Election Day.
Robredo was responding to a query on how she feels about the group of supporters pushing ROSA tandem which is campaigning for Robredo for president and Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte for vice president.
The ROSA movement is led by Albay Representative Joey Salceda, Cagayan de Oro Representative Rufus Rodriguez and Zamboanga City Mayor Isabela Climaco, citing Robredo and Duterte's efficiency in delivering social services to the people, especially amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
"Ako, klaro naman from the start...until now, until the very end – ang vice president ko, si Kiko Pangilinan. Hindi naiiwasan, hindi naman ngayon lang na eleksyon, pero kahit nung mga nakaraang eleksyon, may mga supporters na iba yung choices, iba yung pinupush na combinations," Robredo said.
(I have been clear from the start, until now, until the very end, my vice President is Kiko Pangilinan. It is unavoidable...not only during this election, even in other elections, there are supporters who have varying choices, pushing for different combination of candidates.)
"Pero as far as I am concerned, as far as the official campaign structure is concerned, ang aking vice president until the very end ay Kiko Pangilinan," she added.
(My vice president until the end is Kiko Pangilinan.)
Robredo and Pangilinan are ranking second and third in pre-election surveys even if their campaign rallies across the nation are consistently drawing mammoth crowds.
Mayor Duterte, on the other hand, is leading vice presidential bets by a mile in pre-election polls. — RSJ, GMA News
