Philippines posts 327 new COVID-19 cases; active infections down to 39K


The Philippines on Thursday reported 327 new COVID-19 cases, bringing the total caseload to 3,678,245.

Based on the Department of Health's latest data, the country’s active case count stood at 39,315.

The DOH said the top regions with cases in the past two weeks were the National Capital Region with 1,694, followed by Region 4-A with 647 and Region 6 with 502.

The Health department recorded a total of 3,579,681 individuals who recovered from COVID-19.

Meanwhile, the country’s death toll climbed to 59,249.

The DOH said 24.64% of the intensive care unit (ICU) beds for COVID-19 patients nationwide were utilized.

It added that 22.04% of the country’s isolation beds were utilized, while 13.66% of ward beds were in use. — VBL, GMA News
