Philippines logs 690 new COVID-19 cases; active tally at 35,967


The Philippines on Sunday reported 690 new COVID-19 cases, bringing the nationwide tally to 3,679,629.

The country’s active case count decreased to 35,967, according to data posted on the Department of Health’s (DOH) website.

There were 37,115 active cases recorded on Saturday, with 373 new COVID-19 infections.

A total of 3,584,319 individuals have been counted as recoveries, while the death toll climbed to 59,343.

The regions with the most cases in the past two weeks were the NCR with 1,573 infections, Region 4-A with 588, and Region 6 with 442.

A total of 18,727 individuals were tested as of April 2, with 294 laboratories being able to submit data.

Latest data showed that 16% or 5,278 out of the 33,034 hospital beds nationwide were occupied.

Meanwhile, 15.51% or 502 out of the 3,219 total intensive care unit (ICU) beds for COVID-19 patients all over the country were in use.—LDF, GMA News
