US, Philippine soldiers hold room-clearing, cold load training in Nueva Ecija


Filipino soldiers and their American counterparts participated in room-clearing combined interoperability and cold load training exercises in Fort Magsaysay, Nueva Ecija, the Philippine Army said Tuesday.

As part of the Balikatan Exercise 2022, the troops conducted a two-day room-clearing combined interoperability exercise on Sunday and Monday.

The activity was part of the series of combined interoperability exercises that will culminate in the military operations in urban terrain/airfield seizure Joint interoperability exercise, the PA said.

The training covers attacking and clearing an airfield, involving isolating the objective, suppressing the threat, advancing the assault element, assaulting the building, clearing the building, and consolidating and reorganizing the force.

On March 28, the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) and the United States military kicked off their 37th Balikatan Exercise.

With around 8,900 Filipino and American soldiers participating, this year's joint exercise is the largest-ever Balikatan, the AFP said. —Joviland Rita/KBK, GMA News
