276 new COVID-19 infections recorded; active tally down to 24K


The Department of Health (DOH) on Thursday recorded 276 new COVID-19 infections, raising the nationwide tally to 3,682,356.

The Philippines’ active case count dropped to 24,179, the lowest single-day tally since January 2 (21,418 cases).

The top regions with cases in the last two weeks were the National Capital Region with 1,307, followed by Region 4-A with 530 and Region 3 with 368.

The number of recoveries climbed to 3,598,245, while the country’s death toll rose to 59,932.

The bed occupancy rate in the country stood at 16.2%, with 5,228 occupied and 26,955 vacant.

The DOH said that 17,371 individuals were tested on Wednesday, with 300 testing laboratories submitting data. —VBL, GMA News
