Lito Atienza: Manny Pacquiao's common sense kept him from attending Easter Sunday press conference

House Deputy Speaker Lito Atienza on Monday expressed his dismay over the joint press conference presidential candidates Isko Moreno, Panfilo Lacson, and Norberto Gonzales held on Easter Sunday.

According to Marisol Abdurahman’s report on  “24 Oras”, the running mate of Manny Pacquiao criticized the presidential candidates for organizing the event which he claimed would only benefit former Senator Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr.

He lauded Pacquiao for skipping the media forum which he described as “unfair” and “anti-Leni”  or against Vice President Leni Robredo.

“Ako’y naniniwala sa integridad at sentido komon ni Manny Pacquiao. Talagang di pupunta yan. If I know Manny, he will not go there. He won’t be part of this nonsense... Dahil alam kong anti-Leni Robredo  ‘yun. Ang kanilang pinauurong,” Atienza said.

GMA News sought the comment of Moreno, Lacson, and Gonzales but has yet to receive their responses as of posting time.

Earlier, the presidential bets said they held the media conference to clarify they were not withdrawing from Eleksyon 2022.

Atienza criticized Marcos whom he called a “fake”. He warned Filipinos to cast their votes wisely and think twice if they should vote for a “liar” and a “tax evader”.

GMA News also sought the reaction of Marcos' camp but has yet to receive a response as of posting.  -Sundy Locus/NB, GMA News
