Pope Francis re-appoints Davao bishop to Vatican post
Davao Archbishop Romulo Valles has been assigned by Pope Francis as a member of the Congregation for Divine Worship and the Discipline of the Sacraments (CDW), according to a post on the Catholic Bishops' Conference of the Philippines (CBCP) website.
Valles was given another five years to serve in the Vatican's divine worship office, which handles liturgy-related matters.
Valles was appointed to the Congregation in October 2016 together with 26 other bishops.
The reappointment, according to the CBCP post, was conveyed by Vatican by Archbishop Arthur Roche, the prefect of the Congregation on March 18.
The Davao archdiocese made the appointment public on April 18.
Valles, a former CBCP president, also served as chairman of the CBCP Episcopal Commission on Liturgy from 2001 to 2009. -- BAP, GMA News
