BJMP reports no COVID-19 case among inmates since March 27
The Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP) said Sunday that all their inmates and personnel nationwide are cleared from COVID-19.
According to Luisito Santos’ report on Super Radyo dzBB, the BJMP said no single COVID-19 case has been recorded since March 27.
Around 126,000 of the 130,000 (persons deprived of liberty) PDLs have been vaccinated against the coronavirus disease, the BJMP added.
BJMP chief Jail Director Allan Iral expressed hope that zero COVID-19 case within their facilities across the country would continue in the coming months because of high inoculation rate.
Iral also reminded jail personnel to maintain strict compliance of health and security protocols in their offices and facilities.
The Department of Health (DOH) on Saturday reported 210 new COVID-19 cases, bringing the nationwide caseload to 3,684,300.
Based on the DOH’s latest bulletin, the country's active case count dropped to 14,696 compared to 15,782 on Friday. —LBG, GMA News
