Isko open to joining Comelec interview if schedule permits
CARLES, Iloilo — Manila Mayor Isko Moreno on Monday said he is open to joining the presidential interviews of the Commission of Elections (Comelec) and the Kapisanan ng mga Brodkaster ng Pilipinas but only if his schedule allows it.
"Basta libre 'yung oras, bakit hindi [If I'm free, why not]?" he told reporters here when asked regarding his attendance to the event to be held next week.
Moreno, the standard-bearer of Aksyon Demokratiko, however admitted that he still has to visit and revisit many provinces, towns and municipalities for his campaign.
"But if [the] schedule will allow, of course I will be happy to join," he said.
Comelec will conduct the panel interview instead of the previously planned town hall debates amid the issue on unpaid dues hounding its private partner, Impact Hub Manila.
Asked if he prefers interviews over debates, Moreno said he is fine with either one.
"Kahit ano. Naga-apply ako sa trabaho, hindi naman namimili kung paano siya i-interviewhin ng kanyang future employer, which is in this case taongbayan," he said.
(Either one. I am applying for a job and I do get to choose how I will be interviewed by my future employer, which in this case is the voters.) —KBK, GMA News
