Bangsamoro religious leaders to hold moonsighting event on Sunday, May 1, 2022

Grand Mufti of the Bangsamoro Sheikh Abu Huraira Udasan and other religious scholars will hold a moonsighting activity on Sunday to determine when Eid'l Fitr will be celebrated.

The Bangsamoro Government announced that the coverage will begin at 5:45 p.m. and will be streamed on its official Facebook page.

The holy Islamic month of Ramadan started on Sunday, April 3. It calls for spiritual reflection through praying, fasting, and abstaining from sinful behavior.

The month of Ramadan ends with the Eid'l Fitr holiday, which is celebrated by the Muslim world for three days after the end the Islam’s holy month.  —Richa Noriega/NB, GMA News
