Trixie Cruz-Angeles on anti-Marcos tweets from past: I changed my mind

President-elect Ferdinand Marcos Jr.'s choice for presidential communications secretary on Thursday explained her support for the incoming Chief Executive despite tweets critical of his family several years back.

Atty. Trixie Cruz-Angeles' tweets on Marcos and his family's ill-gotten wealth have resurfaced following her expected appointment as head of the Presidential Communications and Operations Office.

Angeles said she had discussed these with Marcos himself.

"We have talked about it, I'm a vlogger and we have talked about it extensively on the vlogs, we have conducted several lives about it, and I've told my story about how and when I changed my mind about it," Angeles said.

"So that's it, that's pretty much it," she added. "I think evolution is a natural thing even in our consciousness."

Angeles said she learned of her new designation a week ago.

The Marcos camp had said Cruz-Angeles' primary task is to oversee the operations of the PCOO, which includes the conduct of regular press briefings.

PCOO Secretary Martin Andanar, who will turn over the post to Cruz-Angeles, welcomed the development.

"The PCOO welcomes the nomination of Atty. Rose Beatrix 'Trixie' Cruz-Angeles to head the PCOO under the incoming administration," Andanar said.

"Atty. Angeles is no stranger to PCOO having served the office during the early years of the Duterte administration," he added.
