225 new COVID-19 cases logged; active tally at 2,441


The Philippines logged 225 new COVID-19 infections, taking the nationwide tally to 3,691,114, according to data released by the Department of Health (DOH) on Friday.

The new cases brought the country’s active tally to 2,441, a slight increase from 2,334 on Thursday.

The National Capital Region registered 1,059 new cases in the past two weeks, followed by Region 4-A with 418, Region 3 with 237, Region 6 with 132, and Region 12 with 104.

A total of 3,628,217 patients recovered from the viral disease, while the number of deaths increased to 60,456.

The country’s bed occupancy rate stood at 17% as of Thursday, with 5,209 beds occupied and 25,459 beds vacant.

A total of 18,510 individuals were tested, with 325 testing laboratories having submitted data as of June 2. —VBL, GMA News
