Pacquiao spent P119M in Eleksyon 2022, over P60M from personal funds —SOCE
Senator Manny Pacquiao has declared more than P119 million worth of expenditures in his campaign for president in the May 2022 elections, some P62 million of which came from his personal funds.
Based on his Statement of Contributions and Expenditures (SOCE) filed with the Commission on Elections (Comelec), Pacquiao's total campaign expenditures is P119,128,914.14.
Of the total amount, P62,677,926.12 came from his personal funds.
Pacquiao's SOCE also indicated that he received P7,750,000 worth of cash contributions, and P48,700,988.02 worth of in-kind contributions.
As of December 2020, Senators Pacquiao and Cynthia Villar are the only billionaires in the Senate, each posting a net worth of over P3 billion, according to their Statement of Assets, Liabilities and Net worth (SALN).
Based on the summary of SALNs posted on the Senate website, Villar is still the richest lawmaker with a net worth of over P3.87 billion as of December 2020.
Pacquiao, a former world boxing champion, followed with a net worth of over P3.18 billion. —KBK, GMA News
