257 new COVID-19 cases logged; active tally reaches 3,130


The Philippines logged 257 new COVID-19 infections on Tuesday, bringing the nationwide tally to 3,693,865, according to the latest data released by the Department of Health (DOH).

The new infections brought the country’s active tally to 3,130, from 3,097 on Monday.

More patients recovered from the viral disease, bringing the recovery tally to 3,630,274.

The DOH said the country’s death tally stood at 60,461 with no new deaths reported.

The regions with the most new cases in the recent two weeks were the National Capital Region with 1,562, followed by Calabarzon with 447, Central Luzon with 252, Western Visayas with 215, and Central Visayas with 126.

The country’s bed occupancy rate is at 17%, while at least 5,132 beds were occupied, and 25,030 were vacant.

At least 18,113 individuals were tested, with 325 testing laboratories submitted data as of June 13. — Richa Noriega/BM, GMA News
