Marcos declares July 9 a regular holiday for Eid'l Adha

President Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr. has designated July 9 a regular holiday in observance of the Eid'l Adha or the Feast of Sacrifice.

Proclamation No. 2, dated July 5, states that Eid'l Adha is one of the two greatest feasts of Islam.

It says that the observance of the Eid'l Adha should be subject to the public health measures of the national government.

During Eid'l Adha, Muslims slaughter sheep, goats, cows, and camels to commemorate the Prophet Ibrahim's willingness to sacrifice his son at Allah's command. —VBL, GMA News
