Angat Dam still below minimum level despite rains

The water level in Angat Dam, which is the main source of water in Metro Manila, has dropped below the minimum operating level despite the occasional heavy rains in the past few days.

According to a report on “24 Oras” on Monday,  PAGASA said that the current level of water in Angat Dam is 176.16 meters as of 6 a.m. of September 19, 2022.

This is below the minimum operating level of 180 meters and far from the normal high water level of 210 meters.

The rains brought by Habagat and thunderstorms were not enough to fill the lack of water in the dam, the state weather bureau said.
