GMA News Online reporter bags PSA's best statistical reporting award

GMA News Online senior news producer, Ted Cordero, was hailed as among the winners in the individual categories of the 11th National Statistics Month (NSM) Media Awards of the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA).

Cordero bagged the Best Statistical Reporting in Online Media Award during the ceremony held at the Crowne Plaza Manila Galleria, Quezon City on Monday.

According to the PSA, Cordero was recognized because of his “accurate, timely, and significant use of statistics exemplifying wide reach and impact through public service in pursuit of delivering evidence-based reports”.

“This award is not only a recognition but also a challenge to report accurate and evidence-based stories on statistics and how these data impacts the daily lives of Filipinos,” said Cordero, who covers the business beat.

The media recognition was part of the month-long celebration of the 33rd NSM this month.

Other winners honored at the event are Cai Ordinario (Business Mirror) for Best Statistical Reporting in Print Media; Edson Guido (ABS-CBN News Channel) for Best Statistical Reporting in TV Broadcast Media; Energy FM 107.7-Kalibo for Best Statistical Reporting in Radio Broadcast Media; and Business Mirror for Best Media Advocate for Statistics.
