Jessica Soho, Howie Severino, Vicky Morales, Arnold Clavio pay tribute to Marissa Flores on her retirement

GMA News pillars Jessica Soho, Howie Severino, Arnold Clavio, and Vicky Morales paid tribute to Marissa L. Flores on her retirement as Senior Vice President of GMA News and Public Affairs.

In a video message, Severino compared Flores to the late Queen Elizabeth II as a figure who provided stability and continuity around her.

"Halos lahat ng nasa News and Public Affairs sa GMA ngayon walang ibang alam na head kundi si MLF," he said.

"With her example, she kept us grounded, a constant reminder of what really matters. It's not fame or fortune but just doing what's right. She walked her talk."

Soho said Flores' leadership led to the taglines "Walang kinikinikilingan, walang pinoproktetahan" and "Dapat Totoo."

"She's not the type who likes to claim credit but GMA News and Public Affairs as we know it now ay dahil sa kanya," she said.

"Ang pinaka importante niyang legacy bukod sa mga award-winning at makabuluhang programa, ay ang kanyang integridad at ang kanyang values."

Clavio also thanked her for being his "Ate" in GMA News and Public Affairs.

"Thank you sa lahat ng paggabay mo sabi ko nga not only as being a good journalist pero being a good human being na rin. Ikaw ang talagang lagi kong pinupuntahan pag may mga seryosong problema sa career man or personal na buhay," he said.

Morales, meanwhile, said she never thought she would ever have to send Flores off but she nonetheless delivered a touching message.

"Parang hindi ko po ma-imagine ang GMA News and Public Affairs without MLF," she said. "For 35 solid years, siya 'yung naging motherhen natin, 'di ba guidance counselor, cheerleader, honest critic, at loyal friend rolled into one."

Other GMA News personalities who expressed their gratitude for Flores' guidance are Maki Pulido, Atom Araullo, Pia Arcangel, Ivan Mayrina, Kara David, Sandra Aguinaldo, Connie Sison, Kim Atienza, Susan Enriquez, Raffy Tima, Mariz Umali, and many more.
