Fewer crimes were recorded during Undas this year than in 2021, despite the cemeteries finally being open during All Saints' Day and All Souls' Day after two years.

According to Raffy Tima's report on "24 Oras," index crimes such as murder, rape, and homicide were reduced by more than half compared to Undas last year

The police organization said that their next mission is to reduce the number of crimes in the coming Christmas season, as theft may increase due to the recovery of economic activity across the country.

Authorities warned the public not to carry a huge amount of money, expensive or bulky jewelry, and unnecessary gadgets when they go to public and crowded places.

It is also advisable to use e-wallets to avoid being robbed, they said.

So siguro, mas less yung makikita natin ngayon sa mga crowded places, but just the same, early on nagde-deploy na tayo ng mga kapulisan natin," said PNP spokesperson Police Colonel Jean Fajardo. — Sherylin Untalan/BM, GMA News
