DOH logs 694 new COVID-19 cases; active tally of 16,034 lowest since July


The Department of Health (DOH) on Tuesday reported 694 new COVID-19 cases after three days straight of more than 1,000 new cases a day, bringing the nationwide tally to 4,011,625.

The tally of active cases also went down to 16,034, the lowest total since July 13, when 14,862 active infections were reported.

Based on the past two weeks, the National Capital Region (NCR) logged the most cases with 2,982, followed by Calabarzon with 1,855, Western Visayas with 1,310, Central Luzon with 998, and Davao Region with 890.

The country’s recovery tally also rose by 1,312 cases to 3,931,293.

At least seven new fatalities were also reported, pushing the country’s death toll to 64,298.

The Health department said at least 6,672 beds were occupied, while 21,745 were vacant as the bed occupancy in the country stood at 23.5% as of Sunday, November 6.

At least 14,805 individuals were tested, while 340 testing labs submitted data as of Monday, November 7. — Richa Noriega/BM, GMA Integrated News
