DOH logs 1,241 new COVID-19 infections; active cases down to 15,989


The Department of Health (DOH) on Wednesday logged 1,241 new COVID-19 infections, while the tally of active cases went down to 15,989.

The latest data from the DOH showed that this was an increase from 694 new COVID-19 cases reported on Tuesday, while the active tally dropped from 16,034.

The fresh cases also brought the nationwide caseload to 4,012,868.

The DOH said the National Capital Region (NCR) registered the highest cases in the recent two weeks with 3,005, followed by Calabarzon with 1,856, Western Visayas with 1,370, Central Luzon with 991, and Davao Region with 902.

The Health department said a total of 1,264 new patients recovered, bringing the recovery tally to 3,932,557.

The death toll, on the other hand, also climbed to 64,322 with 24 new fatalities.

At least 14,527 individuals were tested, while 337 testing laboratories submitted data as of Tuesday, November 8.

The bed occupancy in the country increased to 24.9%, with at least 7,124 beds occupied and 21,544 were vacant as of Monday, November 7. — Richa Noriega/BM, GMA Integrated News
