Comelec sets voter registration from Dec. 12, 2022 to Jan. 31, 2023

Voter registration for Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan elections (BSKE) will start on December 12, 2022, according to an Unang Balita report on Wednesday, citing the Commission on Elections (Comelec).

The registration will last until January 31, 2023.

Registrants can go to the office of the election officer or satellite registration sites in their areas from Monday to Saturday, including holidays, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

In a statement, Comelec Chairman George Garcia said the registration applications to be accepted are first-time SK election voters and regular voters; transfer of voter registration record; reactivation of voting status; correction/change of entries in the voter registration record.

Meanwhile, Garcia said the Register Anywhere Project (RAP) pilot testing activity will push through next month.

It will run every Saturday and Sunday from December 17, 2022 until January 22, 2023, Garcia said, quoting Comelec spokesperson Rex Laudiangco.

The RAP pilot testing will be held in five malls in the National Capital Region: SM Fairview, SM Mall of Asia, SM South Mall, Robinsons Place Manila, and Robinsons Galleria.

Garcia said the poll body is also eyeing to conduct RAP pilot testing in the Senate, House of Representatives, Government Service Insurance System main office, Region 5 and 8.

The BSKE was supposed to be held in December 2022 but was moved to October 2023.  —with Hana Bordey/KBK, GMA Integrated News
