DOH logs 1,009 new COVID-19 cases; active tally at 18,035


 

The Department of Health (DOH) on Wednesday recorded 1,009 new COVID-19 cases, raising the nationwide caseload to 4,051,754.

According to DOH’s latest data, the country’s active cases now total 18,035.

The number of recoveries climbed to 3,968,775 while the death toll rose to 64,944 with 23 new fatalities.

The National Capital Region had the highest number of cases in the last two weeks with 5,727, followed by Calabarzon with 2,408; Central Luzon with 1,1162; Cagayan Valley with 732; and Western Visayas with 726.

The Health department said at least 13,783 individuals were tested, while 371 testing labs submitted data on December 13.

DOH also said that the bed occupancy in the country was 23.8%, with 6,620 beds occupied and 21,205 vacancies.—LDF, GMA Integrated News
