Over 300 PDLs released — BuCor


A total of 328 persons deprived of liberty (PDLs) on Monday were released from several operating prisons and penal farms, according to the Bureau of Correction (BuCor).

Data from BuCor showed that 118 of the released PDLs were from the New Bilibid Prison while 76 were from the Davao Prison and Penal Farm.

Meanwhile, of the 328 PDLs, 129 were released on parole, 154 served their maximum sentence with good conduct and time allowance, and eight were acquitted, among others.

Fifteen also served their maximum sentence with GCTA and were released under Department Order No. 953.

Under the department order, the release of PDLs sentenced to life imprisonment or reclusion perpetual or high-risk inmates shall only be Implemented with the approval of the Justice Secretary.

Meanwhile, data also showed that a total of 33 senior citizens were released.
